Mark/a Tamea is a composer working with electroacoustic processes, synthesis, and field recordings. The work explores the space between the familiar and the imagined, combining organic and synthetic sound into sparse, immersive compositions. Through subtle shifts in texture, harmony, and perception, the music invites close listening and an expanded awareness of sound, space, and the physical environment.

Active since the early 1980s, Mark/a has continually explored the possibilities of digital sound transformation as a compositional practice. Alongside an ongoing dialogue with the experimental collective Kymatik, the work has evolved through a sustained interest in listening as a way of shaping experience.

To date, Mark/a has produced ten solo albums and also contributed to compilations including Nijmeegsche Electronische Waar – 4.0, Ressonus Net – Volume One, Gonzo Circus – Mind The Gap, Doppelganger 141 and Voices for Iran – 909 Connection. 2023.
